Congratulations to the following nonprofit, their grant proposal was accepted and they were awarded grant funding for their program:

HPH Hospice, Citrus Resource Center – $131,400

Special Category Grant

Due to the extreme circumstances created by the COVID-19 Pandemic, many citizens in Citrus County are in dire need. In fulfillment of our mission statement the Citrus County Community Charitable Foundation, Inc. strives to improve the health and wellness of residents in Citrus County, Florida. Therefore, a Special Category Grant has been created (utilizing a Letter of Need and back-up documents) to award grants to 501 (c) (3) organizations in the following categories or combination of categories only:

1. Food (i.e., proteins, dairy, vegetables, fruit, cereals, starches, etc.)

2. Hygiene items (i.e., shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, deodorant, sanitary products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)
 
3. Non-prescription and prescription medicines (i.e., aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, diabetic supplies, etc.)

4. Infant care (i.e., diapers, wipes, formula, shampoo, lotion, etc.)

Grant requests may be up to $20,000.00. All other limitations still apply. A list of limitations s available below as a pdf for download labeled:

Special Category Guidelines

Eligibility

Special Category Grants will be made only for the categories listed above by not-for-profit organizations certified as tax-exempt under Sections 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and are classified as "not a private foundation" under Section 509(a). As long as the eligibility requirements have been met, these organizations may apply for grant funding. Hospitals, educational institutions, and governmental institutions meeting these requirements are also eligible to apply in the categories above. Organizations that are not fully licensed, have completed and filed Form 1023 but have not yet received an IRS determination letter, are not eligible to apply.

Granting Area

The CCCC Foundation's Special Category Grant is restricted to the legal boundaries of Citrus County, Florida only.

Letter of Need

Only a Letter of Need and back-up documents are required for this Special Category Grant. The format for the Letter of Need and the Guidelines for review are available below as pdfs for download below:

Utilize this format and review these guidelines only. If awarded, a formal grant agreement must be signed, two press releases are required and two reports (6-month and first year) are also required.
